New data reveals that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power beat House of the Dragon in viewership in its first week. Fall 2022 is proving to be an exceptional time to be a fan of fantasy television with the works of both J.R.R. Tolkien and George R.R. Martin receiving big-budget TV adaptations. Prime Video's The Rings of Power chronicles the rise of evil in the Second Age of Middle-earth thousands of years before the events of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Despite being vastly different shows, the fact that both The Rings of Power and House of the Dragon premiered at around the same time has resulted in a sense of competition between the two for many fans.
