The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as its titular character, documenting his rise to power in France, becoming the first Emperor of the nation.
However, speaking with Empire Magazine, Scott revealed that he has a cut of the Napoleon movie that runs for almost four-and-a-half hours. According to the report, the extended cut has more focus on Napoleon's first wife Joséphine prior to meeting the future Emperor. He hopes that, someday in the future, Apple might screen the extended cut of the film.
