After more than four years of construction, officials have announced a ribbon cutting for the new federal courthouse in Harrisburg.
After nearly two decades of planning and work, officials have set the ribbon cutting for the new federal courthouse in Harrisburg for Friday.
The U.S. General Services Administration and the U.S. Middle District Court said the ribbon cutting will be Friday at 10 a.m. on the steps of the Slyvia H. Rambo U.S. Courthouse.although planning to replace the old courthouse began in 2004. At the time, officials cited security and space as the primary reasons for the new building.
The new building will be a 243,000-square-foot, ten-story $190 million structure, which will include 42 interior secure parking spaces, eight courtrooms and 11 judges’ chambers. Tenant expected to use the building include the Pennsylvania 3rd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts, U.S. Marshal Service, U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Bankruptcy Trustees.If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
