House Republicans proposed a resolution condemning New York's decision to house illegal immigrants in public school gyms, which has prompted outrage among parents.

On Thursday, Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, and Brandon Williams, R-N.Y., proposed a resolution that says using schools to house illegal aliens puts kids at risk and makes school children"pay for the disastrous immigration policies" of the Biden administration and local leaders.Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y., and NYC Mayor Eric Adams have drawn criticism from parents for housing illegal aliens in New York City schools.

In mid-May, the New York Post interviewed one parent who was angry that immigrants were sleeping in her kids’ public school gym, saying,"I’m not brining [my kids] back until I’m sure there won’t be grown men in their gym."Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, sponsored a resolution condemning New York's decisions on how to house illegal immigrants.
