A new report from an independent research group found the U.S. has the worst health outcomes among high-income countries despite spending the most on health care.

It found the U.S. has the lowest life expectancy at birth, the highest rate of people with multiple chronic diseases and the highest rates of death from avoidable or treatable causes.The Commonwealth Fund reported the U.S. did do well in cancer prevention and early cancer treatment.The group urged Congress to expand access to health care and to invest in health equity and social services.Affordability remains the top reason why some Americans do not sign up for health coverage.
