Led by Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, and Tony-winner Lindsay Mendez (for 2018’s Carousel), this latest, virtually sold-out engagement is helmed by Maria Friedman. Here's everything you need to know about the new 'Merrily We Roll Along'.

That material, they all agree, is much less sad and cynical than it can seem on the surface. “If the criteria for happiness is that all of these relationships last until everyone dies, then that’s an unfortunate bar to set,” Radcliffe says. “I think there can be a huge amount of meaning and love in all those relationships, even if they don’t last as long. And what are we at the beginning of the show, 40? There’s a lot of life left that these people can have after this.

It’s also the kind of show, Friedman notes, that tends to meet people where they are, and coax a different reaction every time. “I had somebody coming in yesterday who saw it 10 years ago, who was devastated the first time and devastated this time, but for very different reasons,” she says. “When Sonia first saw it, it was almost impossible to take. She was feeling her life wasn’t perhaps where she wanted it to be.
