The first Quiz Lady trailer is officially here, previewing the upcoming R-rated comedy starring Sandra Oh and Awkwafina.
“In the original film, a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne, and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny, must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts,” reads the synopsis. “When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.
Described as a hilarious and heartfelt comedy, Quiz Lady is directed by Jessica Yu from a screenplay written by Jen D’Angelo. Joining Awkwafina and Oh are Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Will Ferrell, with the latter also serving as a producer. In addition to starring, the Killing Eve vet and the Shang-Chi star are also producing the movie along with D’Angelo, Jessica Elbaum, Maggie Haskins, and Itay Reiss. Executive producers are Alex Brown and Erika Hampson.
