Quinn Ewers is back, and maybe Texas is too RossDellenger reacts to the Longhorns’ Red River thrashing, Hendon Hooker’s day and more from the noon slate

The Longhorns struggled offensively against the Crimson Tide the rest of that game and then lost at Texas Tech two weeks later. Ewers had a gem of a return: He completed 21 of 31 attempts for 289 yards and four touchdowns, throwing one pick.

Oklahoma fans began filing out of the Cotton Bowl in the third quarter, soon after Ewers’ fourth touchdown pass made it 42–0. The Sooners have real problems. They’ve lost three straight for the first time in 24 years, and the last two haven’t been close. Brent Venables’s defense has allowed 145 points and 1,762 yards during the three-game slide.
