Police say Charles Foehner has been charged with 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon after he claims he shot a would-be mugger to death.

Charles Foehner is facing weapons charges after fatally shooting a man to death after the assailant lunged at him with a sharp in Kew Gardens, Queens.who was trying to rob him has been charged with 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.

Police then confirmed later in the evening that Foehner was charged with 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon. According to prosecutors, Foehner said he was carrying a firearm on Wednesday because of the crime in the city and that he's had the weapon since the 1990s after obtaining it in a bar one night.
