Pro-Ject USA has announced three new E1 turntables aimed at new vinyl converts looking for a turntable that offers high quality reproduction at an affordable price.
The E1 turntables are designed to track with precision thanks to a crafted aluminum tonearm that has a factory-fitted Ortofon OM5 cartridge. Rounding out the standard features for the E1 collection is a precision DC motor that has an electronic speed selector for 33 and 45 RPM records, along with a detachable and hinged acrylic dust cover.
The E1 Phono SB model adds a selectable phono preamp that can be switched on to connect with the auxiliary line-level input of a smart speaker or amplifier that doesn’t have a phono preamp stage. The phono preamp can also be turned off for connecting the turntable to an amplifier that already has a dedicated phono input.
