Repairs to a large pothole, possibly caused by recent relentless rains, are blocking lanes on I-880 in Oakland.
The pothole is on the southbound side of the highway between the Fruitvale Avenue and High Street exits.
“We got a call around midnight, it was on 880 over Fruitvale. There were reports that there was a pothole approximately 3 feet by 3 feet. We called Caltrans out and they blocked the three and the four lanes so they could begin repairs,” CHP spokesperson Adib Zeid said.Here's another closeup of that pothole on I-880 SB between Fruitvale Avenue and High Street in Oakland.
