UPDATE: Boulder police announced that the suspect surrendered and he was taken into custody “without injury to anyone.”
An order to shelter in place for residents of a north Boulder neighborhood were dropped after a man in a stolen car, who police say was possibly armed, climbed to the roof of a building before surrendering. No one was injured.
“We’re working to get him down without anyone getting hurt,” Boulder Police Department officials said Tuesday morning at 8:25 a.m. in a posting on Twitter. The police issued a “shelter-in-place” alert, then lifted it around 10:46 a.m. but asked that residents of the city avoid the area between 30th Street and Iris Avenue.
At 1:37 p.m. police announced that the suspect surrendered and he was taken into custody “without injury to anyone.”— Boulder Police Dept. Please avoid the area of 30 and Iris where we’ve issued a shelter in place alert. A suspect in a stolen car has climbed to the roof of a business, says he has a gun and we’re working to get him down without anyone getting hurt
