San Diego police are investigating a shooting in Grantville that left a man with life-threatening injuries early Wednesday.
Police responding to a report of shots fired shortly after 3:50 a.m. found a blood trail on the ground on Mission Gorge Road near Twain Avenue but no victim, said police Officer Sarah Foster. A short time later, someone dropped off an injured man at Kaiser Hospital who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Foster said.Because of the extent of his injuries, the man was transported to Sharp Memorial hospital in Kearny Mesa, where he underwent surgery. He was reported to be stable, Foster said.
The victim was “not being cooperative” and provided little information to police about what led up to the shooting, Foster said. No other information was immediately available.
