No injuries were reported after a fire causes damage at Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q, which has been in business in north Alabama for nearly 100 years
“Everyone is safe! We are thankful for the swift action of our staff and local fire department for containing the fire so quickly!” the barbecue joint tweeted from its Facebook account Friday night as it shared photos of the charred brick and ash in the pit room at its Danville Road location. “We appreciate all the calls, messages, and texts from all of our customers, friends, and family.”
Big Bob Gibson, which has been in business in north Alabama for nearly 100 years, said it hopes to be open by Monday. The barbecue joint also has a location at 1715 6th Ave. SE in Decatur, which remains unaffected, the business said.
