The pilot and owner of a small airplane died following a crash landing Saturday morning just outside of Sherman, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
, took off from Aero County Airport in McKinney and crash-landed near the 600 block of FM-697 about 9:40 a.m., according to preliminary reports.The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the plane crashed in a Grayson County field.The pilot, identified by authorities as 69-year-old Paul Edward McBride from Dallas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
