A pedestrian killed Monday evening in Tucson has been identified as detectives continued their investigation.

Tucson police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a driver on Monday evening.

As officers arrived, they found Tucson Fire Department personnel providing aid to the male pedestrian, identified as 60-year-old Kevin Richard Stephens. Lifesaving measures were taken, but Stephens was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police statement. The driver of the vehicle, identified as an 18-year-old male, immediately stopped after the collision and cooperated with the investigation, according to the police statement. An officer from the Impaired Driver Enforcement Unit was called to the scene and ultimately determined that the driver was not impaired at the time of the collision, according to the police statement.
