A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car that had been involved in a collision at an East Side intersection, San Antonio police said.
The driver of a white Chrysler 200 was traveling northbound in the left lane of North Walters Street when it turned left onto Dignowity Avenue about 5:45 p.m. Friday. But it turned in front of a dark blue Chrysler 300 traveling southbound on Walters, police said. The dark blue car hit the passenger side of the white Chrysler, according to a report. Both cars were then “redirected” to the southwest corner of the intersection, it added.
The white car hit a pedestrian who was walking near the intersection, police said. The pedestrian was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the white Chrysler was arrested on outstanding municipal court warrants, police said. There are no charges pending in this case.
