is fast approaching. The restaurant, which replaced Bud’s Southern Rotisserie one year ago, will close after service Sunday to make room for a new Mexican pop-up.
"We were honored to debut Kineapple at Food Hall and it has been a great experience," Kineapple owner Robby Grubbs said in a news release."After a year-long run and realizing its potential, we are looking forward to Kineapple’s next chapter in San Antonio." Grubbs and his wife, Neesha, are the owners of Local Coffee Founders, also at the Pearl. At Kineapple, they served a menu of health-focused dishes such as the Power Bowl loaded with lentils, kale and sprouts and the Kineapple Express smoothie made with protein powder, fresh fruit, ginger and turmeric.
El Diente de Oro, opening at the Pearl in early October, will serve tacos and other dishes inspired by Northern Mexico.The space won't sit empty for long. Fellow food hall operators Orlando and Susana Aguirre, the force behind the Mexican street food outfit Chilaquil, will open a pop-up concept dubbed El Diente de Oro in early October and run it through the end of the year.
El Diente de Oro, which began life as a series of pop-ups at the Pearl's outdoor kitchen, will focus on the food of Northern Mexico, which the couple has long enjoyed while visiting family from the region. Offerings at El Diente de Oro will include dishes such as tacos stuffed with meat and fideo, grilled short ribs, guacamole dressed with crisp chicharrones and more.
