Star players part of caravan that will visit several spots to thank fans, organizations for their support
Four groups of players will make surprise stops around San Diego to meet and thank fans and various organizations. Xander Bogaerts, Jake Cronenworth, Yu Darvish, Josh Hader, Manny Machado, Joe Musgrove, Juan Soto, Robert Suarez and Fernando Tatis Jr., among others, will all take part in the event.
Included in the stops, which the Padres are not publicizing before the players arrive, are two organizations that players voted to award a half-playoff share apiece .The first appearance is scheduled for shortly before 10 a.m., with the caravan continuing until mid-afternoon. Each group will spend time walking around in a neighborhood.
The club will host its annual FanFest on Saturday at Petco Park. This year’s event has been sold out for weeks.
