It was one of three suspected twisters reported in the county on Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service has determined an EF1 tornado with estimated peak gusts of 100 mph was on the ground for eight minutes Sunday afternoon in the Hartleton area of Union County.about that time, including one along Route 15 just north of Lewisburg that damaged a fireworks store and produce stand.
The twister in the Hartleton area cut a path up to 150 yards wide for 1.51 miles after it touched down just south of God’s Missional Church in Millmont about 3:48 p.m., the NWS report states.It went east northeast from near the church, causing damage to a well-constructed chicken coop and uplifting most of a barn’s roof and spreading it throughout a nearby field. Several large tree branches were broken off.
A suspected tornado caused extensive damage to a fireworks business along Route 15 just north of Lewisburg late Sunday afternoon. Several vehicles also were damaged by the storm but no one in the building at the time was injured.
