Since taking on the role of Acting L&I Secretary, Walker has led the department’s efforts to build a resilient Unemployment Compensation system, prioritize enforcement of Pennsylvania’s 13 labor laws, and strengthen Pennsylvania’s economy by empowering workers to pursue opportunities like registered apprenticeships that lead to family-sustaining jobs, a press release said.“I am deeply grateful for Gov. Shapiro’s confidence and the full support of the Pennsylvania Senate.
Davis-Jones also was officially confirmed Wednesday. In this role, she will lead the commonwealth’s efforts to reduce substance use disorder and problem gambling disorder, with a large focus on expanding access to and increasing the quality of SUD treatment, to help all Pennsylvanians live fulfilling lives free from the disease of addiction.
