After a five-month investigation, the ACLU alleged that the school district showed a 'toxic educational environment for LGBQ&T students that has been exacerbated by homophobic and transphobic actions and policies' from the school board and administrators.

"We talked to dozens of parents, students, staff members, former staff members and just learned about the different types of hostilities that have been happening towards LGBTQ students, and transgender students in particular," said Richard Ting, staff attorney at the ACLUPA.
