Kai Bird, the Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer of J. Robert Oppenheimer, has endorsed legislation that would bar AI programs from launching nuclear weapons.

Fox News congressional correspondent Aishah Hasnie has more on the bipartisan effort to prevent AI overreach and the dangers of tech innovation on 'Special Report.'

Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ed Markey is one of the co-sponsors of bipartisan legislation to bar AI from being used to launch nuclear weapons. "Humans must always maintain sole control over nuclear weapons — this technology is too dangerous to gamble with," Bird said in a statement."This bill will send a powerful signal to the world that the United States will never take the reckless step of automating our nuclear command and control."
