More cultures are also greatly represented on the day of Eid, because mosques are packed with worshipers.
When Muslims slaughter the animal in designated farms, part of the meat is consumed by the family and friends, while the rest of the meat is distributed to the poor and the needy in the larger community. During this holiday, gifting money is usually given to younger children to save or spend on more Eid goodies. The Eid celebration is not complete without a large gathering of the San Diego Muslim community where we enjoy delicious food, fun games, face painting, a gift exchange and henna.
