has closed its small retail outpost in the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights. This second location for the Cleveland-based company opened three years ago during the pandemic. It closed this week because of staffing issues.
“It’s a little overwhelming and frustrating,” he says. “We couldn’t compete and offer benefits. We’re still mom and pop shop. We can’t do anything until things change. We’re not a failure. We can only charge so much for cheese, even artisan cheese.” “We’re pretty lucky there,” he says. “We have a great team. We’re open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We have a nice little patio and more shelf space.”
