Norfolk Southern is expected to spend more than $25 million for improvements to East Palestine, Ohio's, city park.

Mike DeWineNorfolk Southern will spend more than $25 million to upgrade and improve the city park in East Palestine, Ohio, the village that was significantly affected by a Feb. 3 derailment., allowing the railroad to begin developing a master plan for the park located in the heart of the village.
This took place a few days before the National Transportation Safety Board will be holding a two-day investigative hearing into the derailment. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday and Friday of this week at East Palestine High School. Thursday’s hearing will go from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday’s hearing will go from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The hearings are open to the public and will be live-streamed on the
