The proposal didn't include universal background checks, sweeping gun restrictions or red flag laws but it still failed to gain traction among fellow Republicans. And the odds of its passing next year aren't great either. The bill would scrap the civil statute of limitations for child sex abuse claims tied to bankruptcy cases. Even House Majority Floor Leader Rep. Bill Seitz, R-Green Township, who generally opposes raising Ohio's statute of limitations on sexual assault, was on board.
