A 30-year-old man was sentenced to life for murdering his cousin in law.
OAKLAND — An Oakland man was sentenced earlier this month to 50 years to life in state prison for murdering his cousin-in-law and shooting his cousin’s girlfriend in the hand, court records show.
Williams’ girlfriend testified that she, Williams, and Prince hung out the day before the shooting, and that Williams even let Prince stay in their hotel room, telling her that his cousin had nowhere else to go. She testified that Williams frequently posted pictures of himself with money on Instagram, and that he had hundreds of dollars on his person that day.
She said it was only after the shooting that she realized Prince was responsible. Authorities allege that Prince also confessed to his mother, who told a detective about the confession.
