Remains of a man dead for years found in Oakland’s Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center
OAKLAND — A man whose remains were found inside a wall of the Henry J. Kaiser Center “most likely” died accidentally, authorities said Friday.Contract workers at the downtown facility discovered the remains Wednesday behind a dry wall in the top tier of the building, police said.
The remains were between two concrete pillars in an opening of about 15 inches, police said Friday. The early investigation indicates the person may have died at the top of the pillars and that parts decayed and slipped toward the cavity space. Police said that the initial investigation indicates the body was that of a man of an unknown age or race and that it may have been there from between three to five years.
