The Oakland A’s recently struck a deal for a move to Las Vegas, but the Oakland airport will be moving forward with its A’s restaurant.

, the airport and its tenant intend to move forward with the restaurant’s branding when it opens.

“At this time, our airport team and the concessionaire tenant are focused on completing the construction of this unit despite recent events related to the Oakland A’s. We will then be working with the operating concessionaire tenant on any potential changes to our long-term plans,” an OAK spokesperson told SFGATE.

SSP America, an airport concessions operator, struck the licensing deal to use the baseball team’s branding. “SSP America has teamed up with Chef Nikki Shaw, a featured chef for the Oakland A’s and the Golden State Warriors, to craft a one-of-a-kind ‘Rooted in Oakland’ full service restaurant featuring breakfast, lunch, dinner and a full bar,” a poster at OAK promoting the restaurant read.

“We have an excellent working relationship with the airport and a contract which plans for, and even anticipates, changes on many levels. We will work collaboratively with the airport … to manage any and all changes to ultimately serve the passengers of OAK the ‘taste of place’ for which we’re known,” an SSP America representative told SFGATE. The company did not comment on how long the licensing deal will last.
