TUCSON, Ariz. — The Rincon Valley Fire District and other crews are responding to a large fire on Highway 83 at milepost 42, about 40 miles south of Tucson.
The fire started around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon and has burned 5,500 acres so far. Officials say winds are pushing the blaze north and east.Officials say the highway will be closed throughout the night and at least Saturday morning.Rd closed on SR-83 Northbound near Santa Rita Rd .
