Some of the asylum seekers had refused to leave and camped out along 57th Street between 9th and 10th avenues. The NYPD was on the scene after 11 a.m. to move the migrants' tents from blocking the sidewalk.

As the city plans to move groups of asylum seekers from the Watson Hotel in Hell's Kitchen to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, many there are refusing to leave.

A city spokesperson told Eyewitness News they've had more than 42,000 migrants bused to New York City in the last year with that crisis at the southern border ongoing. In the meantime, the planned move for the single adult men who were staying at the Watson is underway to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.
