The monthly report from the Regional Task Force on Homelessness also reported for the first time the number of veterans who were housed
Another 1,141 San Diego County residents fell into homelessness last month while 884 homeless people found housing, the Regional Task Force on Homelessness reported Monday.
About 27,500 people actively receiving services in the county included 3,914 veterans, and the 884 people who found housing included 96 veterans. The June report also broke down other groups who were housed or received services. Besides veterans, about 8,300 people 55 and older are enrolled in programs to help homeless people or people facing homeless. About 2,100 people who are ages 18 to 24 also are in the programs, and participants included about 2,600 families.
