Caring for the whole student is the idea behind the State of Ohio’s Stronger Connections Grant, which recently awarded $52,448 to North Olmsted City Schools.
Superintendent David J. Brand said the funds will directly support school counselors and the district’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program.
Applied for last spring, the Stronger Connections Grant allows the district to focus on student resources and curriculum related to peer interaction, as well as conflict management and goal-setting. Districts and schools can use Stronger Connections Grant funds to support their local health and safety needs, including student wellness and mental health.
