Officials said traveling to Tahoe could be “very difficult to impossible” this weekend as another winter storm brews.
Angela Musallam, spokesperson for the Placer County Sheriff's Office, told SFGATE earlier this week that folks from the Bay Area should exercise patience when it comes to visiting Tahoe at the moment.
“The snow is not going away anytime soon,” she said. “We haven’t seen these high levels of snowfall in quite some time and the snow will stick around until June.” The California Highway Patrol’s Truckee division deployed a meme Friday morning to discourage travel over the Donner Summit, writing that “we are expecting another 3-5 feet of snow. We all know what happened during the previous storm, so BE PREPARED and PLAN AHEAD.. expect dangerous, to impossible travel over Donner Summit with long delays and road closures,” accompanied by the popular image of women yelling at a cat.
