Nicolas Cage almost played Dracula in a now-defunct Castlevania movie, which was previously developed by James Wan.
Based on Konami’s popular video game series, Castlevania centered around Trevor Belmont, Alucard and Sypha Belnades as they try to defend Wallachia from Dracula and his army, who is seeking vengeance against humanity for the death of his wife and Alucard’s mother, Lisa Tepes.
Castlevania was executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Adi Shankar, and Fred Seibert. Production services were provided by Austin, Texas-based Powerhouse Animation. Last year, it was confirmed that Netflix will be releasing a Castlevania spin-off centering around Richter Belmont and Maria Renard.Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
