The Nets continued to fine-tune their roster on Sunday, adding free agent Lonnie Walker IV to their mix at shooting guard.
The 6-foot-4 Walker, a first-round pick by the Spurs in 2018, averaged 11.7 points and shot 36.5 percent from 3-point range in 56 games for Los Angeles last season.
Walker missed time during the regular season with a knee injury, but he contributed to the Lakers’ playoff run to the Western Conference Finals, highlighted by asalary dump of Patty Mills to the RocketsLonnie Walker IV, pictured in December 2022, contributed to the Lakers’ run to the Western Conference Finals.The veteran guard will be rerouted to Oklahoma City, with the Thunder receiving draft compensation to take on Mills’ $6.8 million expiring contract, according to ESPN.
The 34-year-old Mills was the oldest remaining Net and the only player left on the roster with a championship ring, but he played in just 40 games last season with two starts, averaging 6.2 points per appearance.
