Netflix’s Glamorous is an engaging dramatic comedy series that may feel inspired by films like The Devil Wears Prada but ultimately stands on its own. The 10-episode series stars Miss Benny as Marco Mejia, a young gender-nonconforming queer man who lands a job at a prestigious makeup company run by Kim Cattrall’s Madolyn Addison. Although a Glamorous season 2 has not yet been confirmed, the first season implied there is much story left to tell.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Music for Glamorous was written by Malaysian composer Joy Ngiaw, who is known in part for her work on the Skydance Animation short film Blush and the Netflix movie Rescued by Ruby. Ngiaw also scored the first-ever Skydance Animation studio logo, and was the youngest composer ever to define the sound of a film studio in such a way.
The sound of this score represents a departure from my usual orchestral work, embracing a more contemporary and pop-inspired style. It exudes a light-hearted and fun tone throughout, while also incorporating heartfelt and tender moments that add depth to the music.
