Tropical depression 3 forms in Atlantic on Juneteenth, expected to strengthen into a hurricane in next few days, according to National Hurricane Center
Here's the latest update from the National Hurricane Center as of 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, which is Juneteenth, a federal holiday.Forming over the Central Atlantic, tropical depression 3 is near the Lesser Antilles.In the eastern Tropical Atlantic, showers and thunderstorms have increased in association with a tropical wave located several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
For tropical wave 2, formation chance through 48 hours is low, 30 percent. Formation chance through 7 days is medium, 40 percent.It's too early to determine if there will be any impact to the U.S. from Invest 92L, but all residents in the Southeast should be prepared.
