Although always supportive of her daughter, Joyce initially struggled to accept her daughter's calling before becoming one of her strongest advocates.
Um, the only thing that I felt was missing was I wore a lot of mom clothes that I thought didn’t reflect my profession. It felt—I thought Joyce could have been a lot more powerful in her work life. Yeah. I mean, you know, my friends who are lawyers wear double-pleated pants. I so did not want to wear double-pleated. A woman in an art gallery doesn’t wear doesn’t double-pleated pants.
