As of May 31, $59,176 in fines related to COVID\u002D19 tickets has been collected.

According to new information provided by the province’s Ministry of Justice on Tuesday, 210 charges under the Public Health Act for violations relating to the COVID-19 public health orders led to a conviction, as of the end of May. Fines for 27 of those convictions have been fully collected and partially collected for another 10 charges.

A total of 814 charges have been laid for alleged violations of the Public Health Act, and 379 of those are still awaiting a court date and resolution.In Saskatchewan, public health orders enacted early during the COVID-19 pandemic to limit the spread of the virus included restrictions on gathering sizes and a requirement that masks be worn indoors in public spaces.

That order was followed by a requirement to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test to access certain venues. All public orders came to an end at midnight on Feb. 27, 2022.
