Welcome rains Sunday afternoon and evening
A slow-moving upper-level low pressure system has brought scattered showers and thunderstorms to North Texas, and they will continue through Sunday evening. Some of the stronger storms may produce wind gusts of 40-50 mph, but they will be hit or miss, and much of the region will remain dry. But after the third hottest and fourth driest summer on record, any rain chance is much appreciated.
Temperatures will once again heat up into the triple digits beginning on Labor Day, with highs approaching record levels by the end of the week.Partly to mostly cloudy with a 30% chance for scattered showers or thunderstorms. Rain tapering off by 10 pm. Low: 78. Wind: SE 10 mph.
