Two more swimmers were reportedly bitten by sharks in the waters off of New York beaches Tuesday afternoon, following two other incidents the day before.

The incidents occurred around 60 miles apart and just a day after two others reported being attacked. A victim of a shark bite is seen with his right hand bandaged in Great River, New York, after being transported by Suffolk County Police boat from Fire Island Pines on July 4, 2023. While a shark was not seen in the water, the bite was from a larger marine animal.
