With the rapid expansion of the Big Ten and SEC, other conferences are scrambling to explore their options. Maybe the Big 12 becomes the Big 24? Maybe the Atlantic Coast Conference becomes the All-Coasts Conference? Or maybe Little Conferences That Could will choo-choo-choose to get in on it? “Now, football is different. It’s one game every other year, so you do see a little bit more consistent national travel, and if you’re talking about football only, I could see the conferences that have national footprints for the sport of football only make sense, because it’s not the same type of travel commitment that a soccer team, for example, needs to make.”
