San Antonio Missions were defeated by Midland Rockhounds 3-0 on Thursday, May 19, 2022 Wolff Stadium.After Wednesday night saw the Flying Chanclas record their second no-hitter in three games, San Antonio ran into some trouble on Thursday night. Jack Cushing tossed eight shutout innings while holding the Chanclas to four hits. The Flying Chanclas de San Antonio were shutout by the RockHounds by a final score of 3-0.
The RockHounds took the first lead of the game, scoring three runs off reliever Nolan Watson in the top of the sixth inning. After Watson hit two batters, Jordan Diaz drove in two runs with a double to left field. After recording the second out of the inning, Michael Guldberg singled to score Diaz as Midland took a 3-0 lead.
Adrian Morejon pitched the eighth inning for the Chanclas. He joined San Antonio prior to Wednesday’s game as he continues his rehab assignment. He struck out two of the three batters he faced. The Flying Chanclas had a scoring opportunity in the bottom of the eighth. Chris Givin drew a one-out walk. After a Chandler Seagle strikeout, Esteury Ruiz, who has reached base in all 36 games this season, slapped down a bunt single. However, Connor Hollis grounded out to end the scoring threat.
