A Honda sedan and Mercedes-Benz sedan collided outside the Trader Joe’s at Court Street and Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill just before 3:30 a.m., police said.Seth Gottfried for NY PostThe Mercedes driver, a 25-year-old man, got out of the car and ran off after the smash-up — but responding police caught up to him and he was cuffed nearby, police said.The 18-year-old, who was riding in the Honda, was taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The other occupants of the Honda — a 32-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man — were taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, cops said.Charges are pending against the Mercedes driver, a 25-year-old man, police said.Seth Gottfried for NY PostThe NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is working to determine the cause of the crash, and the directions the vehicles were heading.
