We chat with LastLight stars JoFroggatt & Matthew Fox about the heavy material they tackle in their new peacockTV limited series, what drew Fox back into acting, and more:
Based on the book by Alex Scarrow, Last Light is a timely story and an all-too-terrifying look at a what the future could look like. Following Andy Yeats , a petro-chemical engineer who is called into action when the world's oil ceases to function properly, Last Light sees Fox's character separated from his family at a pivotal moment.
Matthew Fox: The base story was very attractive to me, in terms of the stories around the reliance on oil and this crisis, and this family being torn apart by it or separated by it, and then desperately trying to get back together and to be together. And so, it was the fundamental aspects of the story I was really attracted to.
Joanne, your part of the story is so viscerally terrifying on a familial level. How do you tap into that emotional state where you're so stressed about taking care of your son and your family is spread across the world? The action also seemed like a lot of fun. Matthew, you're getting thrown around in the Abu Dhabi desert, what was that like? Was it like jumping back on a bike? Did you have to do a lot of prep and training to get back up to speed?
