Masters swim meet to feature swimmers ranging from Olympian Josh Davis to 99-year-old

None of her worries came to fruition, of course. Because of that she was thankful for her teammates and coach Kim Hansen at Alamo Area Aquatics. More than 1,800 swimmers from all over the world are expected to compete, including 106 swimmers from San Antonio. The meet begins at 8 a.m. and is expected to last until 4:45 p.m. each day.
The field is headlined by former Olympians, but has swimmers — like Bonkofsky — from various levels of experience in each division. It is contested in age groups of five years with the lowest being 18 to 22 and current highest being 100 to 104. “I think having the opportunity to have a competition of this caliber in San Antonio is great — not only for the ones that want to compete but for other people who just enjoy the sport. I think people will be surprised if they come out,” said the 62-year-old Ingraham. “You want to talk about inspiration? Not only are you seeing these fantastic 25 year olds compete, but then you see someone who is 95 who is going off the blocks, still doing flip turns and still doing the 100 or 200 butterfly.
