Grand Prairie City Council approved a development agreement Tuesday for the roughly 1,200 acres in its jurisdiction. The developers are seeking approval of a municipal management district through the state.
“We have been working with the wonderful staff at the city of Grand Prairie for almost two years to design a truly unique and magnificent community that will delight future residents,” said Phillip Huffines, owner of Huffines Communities, in a statement.Founded in 1985, Huffines Communities has developed more than 15,000 single-family home sites, mainly in North Texas master-planned communities.
Other developers have also eyed the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s southern sector as a path of growth. Just south of Midlothian, RREAF Communities recently revealed set to include roughly 8,500 single-family homes plus 3,000 rental homes and apartments as well as an array of commercial properties and other amenities.
