The nine-alarm wind-whipped fire destroyed a motel and other buildings early Monday morning.
Firefighters battled a massive nine-alarm blaze on Monday morning that consumed a motel on Central Avenue in Salisbury, Mass., authorities said.has shut down nearby roads, and power and utilities have been shut off along Central Ave, police said. Authorities are asking motorists to avoid the area.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the blaze has shut down Route 1A by Sunset View Lane. Salisbury Emergency Management and the American Red Cross are on site to help anyone displaced by the fire, police said.
